Spring and early summer in the garden

The year 2021 has been active and full of work in the garden of El Nido Feliz.

We have set up the greenhouse. We made new garden beds – some of these made by Hugelkultur system; we have arranged old parts of the garden, we have planted asparagus, hazelnuts, some fruit trees and many aromatic plants.

We have had a good harvest of broad beans, broccoli, cauliflowers and other vegetables.

 

 

To deal with water shortages we have decided to use waterboxx system in our garden apart from drip irrigation.

In addition to the existing rainwater collection system (4200 liters tanks and 14000 liters cistern), we have installed another 6,000 liters. As spring was generous, everything was filled with rain water, even the removable pool.

In the last week of June our garden looks like this.
And we already collect green beans, cucumbers, zucchini, potatoes, lettuce and herbs – the earth responds to care 🙂
